For three days now, I wake up..sleep again for another 5 min, ok another 5, naaa lets sleep for another half an hour… cycle to work, grab a delicious Starbucks muffin on the way. The office is empty.. gray days, cold days, that means: hot chocolate, take my time eating lunch, catch up with emails, msn all day, drink Corona.
Today I’ve been looking at designs for a new tattoo, I’m looking for a rose, something between Tokyo Plastic and animated Aeon Flux, with a touch of Art Nouveau.. if that makes any sense.. simple, elegant, striking, no shadows, just straight-forward colours, more like a “plastic rose.”
Saw David Hockney Portraits exhibition yesterday, then catch ‘Pan’s Laberinth’, liked it a lot. One of my favourite directors, Guillermo del Toro.
It’s Friday, that’s good (although means nothing on a quiet week like this) hmm, still haven’t decided what to do on NYE.
Time goes by…so slowly.

BIG HUG to everyone!

Hug to my friends & family around the globe. Either you believe in one God, many, or none, whichever you are spending the holidays with family, friends or on your own, and either you are watching rain, snow or the sun trough your window, there’s one thing that hopefully we all share: a few days off just to chill out.. to sleep a lot or go out a lot, to have a coffee in the morning with no rush, to see friends, go shopping, go surfing or snow boarding, or just to stay at home.
Mi Xmas this year was a delicious dinner cooked by Raf, shared with Aileen, her cousin, Xavier and Mario, followed by a whooole day & night & day with Mario & Xavier, in pyjamas, eating pizza, drinking beer, eating machaca, watching movies… nice.
2006 was great, was London and friends from places I had to look in a map to know where was that, travelling: Paris, Ibiza, Barcelona, Bilbao, 2006 was a couple of weddings and a couple of break-ups, UCL, lots of parties & lots of alcohol, dinner with Charmaine and Stine, watch movies with Anja and Erin, tea with Eoin, coffee with Nevena, 2006 was Camden Town :) Was the Dublin Castle, Bar Fly, Luck Tavern and Elephant’s Head, was to dance ‘till the morning with Philline but also work ‘till the morning, was my job at AC: in 2006 I worked for the Queen, I walked through secret passages of Windsor Castle & I held in my hand the biggest pink-diamond in the world.
... finished the year designing invisible cities, yeah! 2007 is coming, and is coming reloaded !!
Thank you all for a great year, keep rockin ‘cause this year SKY IS THE LIMIT!

The Grinch

I hate X-mas, makes me all sensitive and home-sick, hate it hate it hate it, on Monday I was on a super-rush ‘cause had a deadline at work, so was running like Flash-Gordon to buy a sandwich and I fell and hurt my foot, and now is all purple and big like an empanada (sorry, don’t know the translation, but it’s like a fat taco, you can see it in the pic), it hurt BIG TIME. I just want to be at home!! In my bed, no rush…everybody is buying stupid X-mas presents and getting ready to go home, I ask (just for politeness ‘cause I don’t really care) ‘when are you goin home’ and I can see my friend’s illuminated faces answering ‘tomorrow’ or ‘next weekend’, and their smile actually makes me smile… I don’t even want to call my parents ‘cause then I miss them even more.
So I was with mi big purple foot on a bar havin’ a drink, and I must looked really sad ‘cause the bar tender didn’t charged me for the Guinness, and even showed me a private gallery (with cool paintings by the way) at the attic of the bar, and God knows how I love secret passages, attics and galleries, made me happy :)
On the bright side, Xavier brought the answer to my pain, he gave me this hard-core pain killer that you can only get in Mexico, and now my foot is all right, still big, but slowly getting to it’s normal size. Is good to have him around, always said he’s like my brother.
By the way… empanadas is what I eat at home on special occasions, my grandma used to made them, ‘cause she is from Chile, and they eat empanadas in Chile, they are filled with meat, tuna or cheese, my favourite are the cheese ones.

Imagine there's no countries

Hey! thank's for all the congratulation messages!... Graaacias amigoooos.
So far I'm happy at my new job, but freaking out as well, never worked at this scale before, designing entire cities... designing environments, structures, activities, connections that have never existed before in places that I've never seen, and maybe never will, working with ideas, past, future..Invisible cities.
BIG challenge, I'm super happy.
But getting a job was just half of my worries... STUPID VISA!! I'm running out of time and the company hasn't submitted my papers yet!! aaaaghhhh!!!
Today I was thinking on the worst case scenario: What if I don't get the work permit? mghhh...freaking out here.

Rose BA Arch MSc Housing

I GOT A JOB! I GOT A JOB! I GOT A JOB!
Can’t believe it, I got a job as an Architect for Eric R Kuhne, just when I was about to quit the job-search and just get cash to go home, I went to an interview and they said: “this looks interesting, when can you start?”
The funniest thing is that I got a job in the area of Architecture that I always tried to avoid: DESIGN, but the good thing is that I’ll be in the residential/mix use design studio, my first project is a development in Belfast I'll be also working for a project in Moscow and a third one in Dubai, can't believe it, this is big scale stuff; in every possible sense.
The only bad thing, is that I won’t be able to go home for Christmas hhgm :(
Anyway, I’m very very very happy! and super busy 'cause I'm also finishing some ‘previous commitments’ (stupid responsibility of mine) and doing the paperwork for my visa.
Oh! and last week I found out that I DID pass my master so I AM master-flaca, yeeee!
